Description
Presented is a vintage, sterling silver salad serving set or servers made by Carl Poul Petersen between the 1940s and the 1960s. This set is done in a Danish, Mid-Century Modern style and each piece is completely hand wrought. The fork and spoon are both covered in a fine, hammered finish and the front of each handle has a raised flower and leaf design. This set has never been monogrammed. Petersen apprenticed under Georg Jensen and married his daughter Inger in 1922. The two moved to Montreal and he worked for a brief time for Birks, before opening his independent shop in 1944. Each piece is marked for Carl Poul Petersen and sterling silver purity. This set is in very good condition. There are minor surface scratches. Spoon Length: 8 5/8 inches. Fork Length: 8 1/2 inches.
