💥 19th Century Marine Motif Fish Service Silver and Parcel Gilt RARE 💥 Art Nouveau silver and parcel gilt 2pc fish serving implement set with ornate openwork stylized marine motif, carp, foliage and scroll. Elegant details are added with intricate engraving on the blade and tines, as well repousse trim and foliate ends with finial caps. The pair consists of a flared four prong serving fork and a scimitar shaped knife or slice in a stylized marine motif. No monogram or maker’s mark. The use of a fish slice dates back to the mid 1700s and was popular through the Victorian era. Details: - Antique Marine Motif Fish Service - Silver Fish Serving Knife and Fork Set - Silver and Parcel Gilt with Ornate - Intricate engraving on the blade and tines - Flared Four Prong Serving Fork - Scimitar Scimitar Shaped Knife - Originating in France, England or Germany. - No Monogram or Makers Mark - Based on our basic testing, they appear to be coined (hollow) silver for sleeves / handles. - We could not find a mark so we’re unsure if they are .800, .925, .950, etc. Gold tone shovels, possibly brass or vermeil. Approximate Measurements: Fork: Approx 10” long x 2” wide Knife: Approx 11 3/4” long x 2” wide Condition: Great Antique Condition; The handles have a couple of small dents, faint dimples, pinpoints and slight separation.
