Description

Gorham Sterling Silver Fork in the "Palm" Pattern 1871. This is a A heavy tined splayed serving piece for salads, charcuterie, meats / 😬not a dinner fork. This Sharp tined Long serving Fork with Splayed prongs is traditionally called a "Cold meat serving fork" or Lettuce fork but I can see its use for bread serving, red onion and smoked salmon, pickles, cheeses and cold cuts. The tines are quite sharp and sturdy! Elegance for you table. Sure to be an heirloom in your home. Actually practical for serving: this has sharp tines and is a heavy silver splayed serving fork. Elegant. See stamp markings that reflect that it is Gorham Sterling. On the fork spine is a stamp of a lion, an anchor and “G” with “Pat 1871” and “sterling “ of the Gorham Palm pattern; also referred to as "Palm nut" pattern. ✦Weight is 41 grams and it is 7 inches long. This is Solid Sterling Silver with a scrolling design with leaves on a long vine structure repeating up the front with a backdrop of pebbling texture behind the palm leaves . ✔️This sterling fork is in excellent condition; shine was very nice when I polished it up before. It is direct from an estate of an elder in her 90’s from Philadelphia area. Very mild surface scratches, prongs and shaft are straight. It appears to have been rarely used and was certainly kept carefully. I will polish and comes with this small sterling keeper vintage burgundy pouch from 1960's New York.
