Description

Lovely asparagus or large serving fork by Bailey & Co. active in Philadelphia from 1852-1862. The marks on the fork "Bailey & Co." and the pseudo-hallmarks "lion S shiield" were used by these silversmiths to indicate sterling quality. The refined Victorian engraving enhances the form of the the fork. It is in fine condition - the tines show no wear. There is no monogram, which may have been removed. The length is 9 1/4", the weight 85.4 grams.
