Description
Presented is a large and heavy antique, sterling silver serving fork made by Mount Vernon and retailed by Duhme & Company during the late 1800s. This 19th century, Aesthic style piece is in the Trianon pattern, which was patented in 1889. The handle is finely cast with a raised scroll, orb and leaf designs over a stippled background. The fork has never been monogrammed. The large tines are done in a sort of bowl form. This is most likely a vegetable serving fork, but it can be used to serve any food you like. The back is marked patent, Duhme & Co for the retailer and sterling. This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. Length: 9 1/4 inches. Weight: 112 grams.
